End of Term Two
We come to the end of another busy term and I would like to thank our students, staff and community for all their valuable contributions to our school. Throughout the term, our students have shown exceptional dedication to their learning, embracing the challenges and striving for excellence and quality goal setting. From mastering fundamental skills to exploring new concepts and ideas, they have demonstrated a deep thirst for knowledge and a passion for learning. We are tremendously proud of their achievements in various subjects, and we applaud their consistent hard work. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our incredible teachers and staff for their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and passion. Their tireless efforts have made this term a resounding success.
Facilities
The wonderful new addition to the playground has been completed and has been an immediate success with the students. We are absolutely thrilled with the final product that complements the already wonderful play structures in this area. Additionally, over the holidays we will be undertaking a Departmental ICT infrastructure uplift and we’re excited to have upgraded networking and wireless capacity to provide more reliable and stable digital learning environments for our students and staff.
I wish everyone a safe and relaxing holiday and we look forward to seeing everyone next term when we return on Tuesday 25 July.
Mylor Adventure Day
My favourite thing about Mylor was bouldering. It is when you don’t use a harness and you climb a wall with holds, I did all of the walls without dropping down. I also enjoyed doing the flying fox because you go really fast. I really enjoyed doing the bow and arrows (archery) because it was my first-time shooting arrows. I liked the crate stacking because it was a team exercise. I didn’t enjoy having to take breaks between activities because I wanted to keep on going.
Thomas
Not long ago the upper primary (room 11 & 12) went to Mylor for an adventure day. We were in groups and in those groups we all rotated with activities (super fun activities!!) I really enjoyed this adventure day because I got to spend time with my friends, collaborate and enjoy myself. The staff team there were great, they made sure we all had a great time no matter what! The activities that we did were collaboration games, the amazing flying fox, bouldering, crate stacking (my favourite) and archery. Mylor is an amazing place, I had the funniest time and I really recommend it if you’re looking for some fun time in a lovely scenic adventure place.
Summer
I think Mylor was really fun because I got to do a lot of things and everything was so much fun that I can’t explain it with words. We went bouldering, did some collaborative challenges, went on a flying fox and did crate stacking. Archery was so much fun! I got to use a weapon and learnt to use one (what kid doesn’t want to do that!) but in all seriousness, it was fun, like if a family wants to do something new, I would definitely say Mylor is the place to go. Other things were fun, but archery was the best for me by a long way.

Arbury Park Nature Education Day
In week 7, room 9 went to Arbury Park. At Arbury Park we went to the pond and caught lots of different insects like Daphnia, Back Swimmers and Yabbies. After that we went to the lab and looked at everything we caught with our nets. We caught lots of amazing things and we made our own zoos.
We learnt lots and had heaps of fun cubby building, playing and getting wet and muddy.

Cancer Council Fundraiser
The whole school worked together to raise $285.65
All funds donated will be used in Cancer Council's life-saving research, prevention and support programs.
Head Lice
Head lice are a perennial problem and we have had cases across the school. It is recommended that you check all members of your household carefully. Treating the hair is no guarantee that the lice have been eradicated. Success is more likely if treatment is thorough, checking daily for at least three weeks and children are reminded to avoid head to head contact with others. If your child has head lice, please let school know.
Reports
A written report will be sent home in the last week of this term. This is a mid year report so the information included will be a summary of the evidence of learning collected for each child. The grades will be for the work completed up to this point of the year and reflect the level the child is working at towards the final outcome of the curriculum area.

Nationally Consistent Collection Data
The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) takes place every year.
The NCCD is a collection that counts:
- the number of school students receiving an adjustment or ‘help’ due to disability
- the level of adjustment they are receiving to access education on the same basis as other students.
Students are counted in the NCCD if they receive ongoing adjustments at school due to disability. This ‘help’ allows them to access education on the same basis as a child without disability. The NCCD uses the definition of disability in the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
Schools provide this information to education authorities
For further information about the NCCD click the Link below to the fact sheet for parents, guardians and carers
If you have any questions about the NCCD, please contact the school.

Parents and caregivers are provided with information and simple, practical strategies based on the latest parenting research and information from Parenting SA
We include videos, activities, and time for parents and caregivers to talk in small groups. All our workshops are free. Face-to-face workshops are around 2 to 3 hours (including a break). Each workshop supports the parenting journey by:

- Offering positive approaches to guiding behaviour
- Helping find additional support if needed.
